After senior Congress leader Pawan Khera’s announcement, BJP president JP Nadda and the party’s chief strategist and Union minister Amit Shah said it was clear the opposition had conceded defeat.
“Congress has come to know about its colossal failure, now with which face will it face media and public? Hence, Amit Shah of X said that the Congress is running away from the exit polls. I want to tell Congress party not to run away, face failure and introspect.
Opposing the Congress’s decision, Nadda, in a post on X, said: “Behaving like a child whose toy has been taken away does not befit India’s grand old party. One expects a certain level of maturity from the biggest polity. Opposition Party”.
He said that the Congress is walking away when the result is not expected to be in their favour. But he added that if the party feels there is at least an opportunity from the outside, it will show. By boycotting the exit polls, he said, the Congress is questioning the painstaking exercise conducted by many professional agencies who are working day and night to compile the figures. Nothing can be gained by speculation after the polls, said Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera. “The results will be out on June 4. Before that, we see no reason to indulge in speculations and slugfests for TRPs,” he said in a statement shared with X.
BJP IT cell spokesperson Amit Malviya quipped that it is better to hide in your bunkers. When the election results are coming out on June 4, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said in X that they do not believe in exit poll results released by TV channels to increase TRP ratings.
“Congress has accepted defeat on the seventh phase polling day itself. It is better for the Congress to hide in its own secrets on the 4th of June. “- quipped BJP’s Amit Malviya. In the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections, 57 Lok Sabha constituencies in seven states and one union territory have started voting.
