The counting of votes for the Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections is currently underway, with early trends showing a favorable outcome for the Congress party. Congress is leading in both states as the counting progresses, with only a short time left for the final results.
Voting began at 8 a.m. and is expected to conclude by noon. Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir each have 90-member assemblies. While polling in Haryana took place in a single phase, Jammu & Kashmir saw elections held across three phases.
The main battle is between the BJP, which has been in power for ten years in Haryana, and the Congress, which is trying to make a comeback. After the abrogation of Article 370, the main contest in the elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir is between the Congress-National Conference alliance and the BJP. Exit polls are with Haryana Congress. A hanging assembly is also predicted in Jammu and Kashmir.
