Agatala. In Tripura, Congress and CPM will face the election together against BJP. CPM State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhary said that they will fight together against the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress will contest one of the two Lok Sabha seats in Tripura and the CPM the other.
The CPM state committee was joined under the leadership of Politburo members Prakash Karat and Manik Sarkar. In the meeting, it was decided not to field the CPM candidate in the West Tripura constituency and instead support Congress candidate Ashish Kumar Saha.
Meanwhile, senior CPM leader and former MLA Rajendra Riang said in Tripura East, a tribal constituency.
