Delhi’s new Chief Minister will be formally announced today after a meeting of the newly elected MLAs. The meeting, scheduled for 3 PM, will be held in the presence of central observers Vinod Tawde and Tarun Chugh.
Among the 48 winning MLAs from the Delhi Assembly elections, 15 names are under consideration for key positions. Nine of them will be selected for roles such as Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and Speaker.
There is no official indication yet regarding who will be chosen as the Chief Minister. However, names such as Parvesh Sharma, who defeated Arvind Kejriwal, former BJP Delhi President Satish Upadhyay, Ashish Sood, Jitendra Mahajan, and Vijender Gupta are on the list of contenders.
After securing a historic victory in Delhi after 27 years, the BJP is preparing to make the oath-taking ceremony a grand celebration. The new government’s swearing-in event will take place tomorrow at 11 AM at Ramlila Maidan. Top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and Chief Ministers from 20 NDA-ruled states are expected to attend the event.
