Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 being launched by Union Minister Anurag Thakur

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik launched Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 on Friday. Thakur attended its inaugural program through video conferencing. After video conferencing, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur started the Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 by flagging off from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

The event is going to be celebrated from August 13th till October 2nd. People can register online and they can get their certificates too. The celebrations are said to begin at 75 different locations across the country and they are both virtual and physical events. The event will now be called ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mohotsav’ is being celebrated. During this, he said that youth from all over the country are connected with the same resolve that to stay fit and keep fit. We can build a strong country only by keeping our body and mind healthy. When we move from the 75th anniversary of independence to the 100th anniversary, it is up to all of us in which direction to take the country in 25 years. He, in his speech, had mentioned how important fitness is for an individual and how one should be physically active. The small run was organised. The event happened last year as well, this will be the second edition. Various cultural programs were organized during the opening ceremony.
