Hathras disaster; Irresponsible behavior, suspension of six officials

Hathras: Uttar Pradesh government has taken action in the Hathras disaster in which 121 people died. A sub-divisional magistrate, a tahsildar and a circle officer were suspended for serious misconduct. The action is on the recommendation of the Special Investigation Team.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team has submitted a report to the state government on the Hathras tragedy. The report mentions that the satsang prayer ceremony was allowed and many people participated and adequate security arrangements were not made.

121 people died in a stampede at Bhole Baba’s event in Uttar Pradesh. It is reported that around two and a half lakh people have organized the event. The suspension was based on a report against the Sub-Divisional Magistrate who sanctioned the event.

According to the special inquiry report submitted to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the higher officials were not informed about the program or the venue. Six people, including a sub-divisional magistrate, a circle officer, a tehsildar and two police officers, were suspended based on the report.
