Jama Masjid Metro Station is now Mankameshwar Metro Station, the name has been changed by Yogi Sarkar

Agra: The Uttar Pradesh government has changed the name of the under-construction metro station in Agra. Jama Masjid Metro Station has been renamed as Mankameshwar Metro Station. The name change is in honor of the nearby Mankameshwar temple.

Yogi Adityanath had already expressed his intention to change the name in July 2022. This change comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to inaugurate Agra Metro. He explained that the Agra Metro construction has a total of 13 stations in the first phase and six stations in the priority list.

While Taj Mahal East Gate was the first station, Jama Masjid was the sixth and last station. The Deputy General Manager also explained that it will now be known as Mankameshwar Station.

UPMRC Deputy General Manager responded that the change of name was as per the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He responded that he had earlier instructed to change the name and it was displayed now.
