Lok Sabha Election; Clash during polling in Bengal, VVPAT and EVM machines thrown in water

In the conflict that broke out in Bengal during the polling, local people threw the EVM into the pond. Unexpected events took place this morning. A video of the EVM in a pond went viral on social media. The conflict is at Booth No. 40 and 41 of Kultali in Jaynagar constituency.

After some polling agents refused to sit in the booths, the crowd stormed into the booth and took the voting machine and threw it in the pool. This was confirmed by the Election Officer of Bengal. He said that an FIR has been registered in the incident and further action will be taken.

In a statement issued by the election officer, the new voting machine was brought and polling in six booths was conducted without any interruption. In the seventh phase, polling will be held in seven constituencies in Bengal. The Indian Secular Front and the CPI(M) clashed at many places and created obstacles for the polling. Many people were injured.
