Two individuals have been arrested for sending a death threat email to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, warning that his car would be destroyed in an explosion. The arrested suspects are Mankesh Vayal (35), a driver, and Abhay Shingane (22), a mobile shop owner.
The police apprehended them from Buldhana in Vidarbha and brought them to Mumbai. According to the police, the threat message was sent from Mankesh’s phone, which was left at Abhay’s shop for charging, following an argument between the two. Initial investigations suggest there was no larger conspiracy behind the incident. The threat emails were received at JJ Marg and Goregaon police stations.
