Massive fire in Pune: Five houses and a shop gutted, causing damage worth lakhs

Maharashtra: A massive fire broke out in the Ghorpadi Peth area of Pune, destroying five houses and a shop, causing damages worth lakhs. The fire was reported at 3:47 AM in Joshi Wada. The blaze engulfed a two-story apartment complex with tin sheds on the upper level.

Five fire engines from the fire department rushed to the scene. Firefighters quickly controlled the fire by spraying water from all sides. A major disaster was averted by removing gas cylinders from the houses.

However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation is ongoing, according to the Pune Municipal Corporation.
