NIA to probe Rameswaram cafe blast case

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate the Rameswaram cafe blast case. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a directive in this regard. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) under the Bengaluru police is currently investigating the recent blast at the Brookfield Rameswaram cafe, in which 10 people were injured.

Nine people were injured in the attack. The incident took place at Rameswaram Cafe in East Bengaluru’s Brookfield. Employees and customers in the shop were injured.

It is believed that the bag containing the IED was placed inside the cafe by a young man in his 30s wearing a hat and mask. His CCTV footage has been released. The possibility of a terrorist attack in the incident is also being investigated as the explosion was similar to the cooker bomb blast that took place in Mangalore in 2022.
