Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that land looting has taken place in the country in the name of Waqf. The land mafia has looted the land of backward classes and poor Muslims. He said at a public meeting in Hisar, Haryana, that poor Muslims will not be allowed to be cheated and that the Congress has amended the Waqf Act for vote bank.
“The Congress has only appeased Muslim fundamentalists. This is what their opposition to the new law proves,” Modi said. He asked why the Congress has not nominated a Muslim president and why they have not reserved 50 percent seats for Muslim candidates in the elections.
They used the Constitution only to gain power in elections. During the Emergency, they killed the spirit of the Constitution to retain power. The Constitution talks about a secular civil code, but the Congress never implemented it, Modi said.
