Prime Minister Narendra Modi Condoles President Ebrahim Raisi’s Death

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the accidental death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi. Prime Minister said that the news of Raisi’s death has come as a shock and India stands with Iran in this sad situation.

His contributions will always be remembered. Narendra Modi also conveyed his condolences to the family of Ibrahim Raisi and the people of Iran. Ibrahim Raisi played a major role in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Iran. Apart from the Prime Minister, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also expressed grief over the accidental death of the Iranian President.

Last evening, the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Ameerabdullah crashed on the Iran-Azerbaijan border due to thick fog. The accident happened while returning from a visit to Azerbaijan. After a 20-hour long search, the helicopter was found, but it was burnt.
