Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were stopped by the police while attempting to visit Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh. The police blocked them at the Gazipur border on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway. Following this, several Congress workers gathered at the spot, and the police set up large barricades to prevent their movement.
Heavy security has been deployed by the UP Police in the border areas and surrounding regions. The blocking of the Congress delegation caused a massive traffic jam in the area. Rahul and his team departed for Sambhal at around 10:15 AM, accompanied by Congress MPs from Uttar Pradesh and AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal.
