U.R. Pradeep of the CPI(M), who won from the Chelakkara constituency, and Rahul Mankoottil of the Congress, who won from the Palakkad constituency, took their oath as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
U.R. Pradeep took the oath first in a formal ceremony. Rahul Mankoottil followed, taking his oath with the invocation of God’s name. The oath-taking ceremony took place in the R. Shankaranarayan Thampi Hall of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, with Speaker A.N. Shamseer administering the oath.
This is Rahul Mankoottil’s first time becoming an MLA, while U.R. Pradeep is assuming the position for the second time. After visiting Congress Working Committee member A.K. Antony, Rahul Mankoottil arrived at the Assembly to take the oath.
