School Excursion Bus Catches Fire in Tripura: 13 Students Injured

A bus carrying school students on an excursion caught fire in Tripura’s western region, Mohanpur, on Sunday night. Reports indicate that 13 students suffered severe burns, with nine critically injured students admitted to the GB Pant Hospital in Agartala. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was caused by the explosion of a generator kept inside the bus.

West Tripura SP Kiran Kumar stated that an investigation into the incident is underway. Expressing concern, Chief Minister Manik Saha assured that the government would provide all necessary medical aid to the injured students. He also urged those undertaking excursions to exercise greater caution. The accident occurred on the Agartala-Khowai road, leaving the bus completely destroyed by fire.
