Soldiers in Kashmir Spread Heartfelt Diwali Cheer with Sweets

As Diwali celebrations unfold across the country, the Indian Army has commenced festivities in Kashmir. Soldiers from the Indian Army’s Romeo Force marked the beginning of Diwali celebrations by distributing sweets. Soldiers stationed in the mountainous areas of the Pir Panjal Range celebrated Diwali in their camps by lighting lamps and singing songs. Soldiers deployed along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir also celebrated Diwali.

In honor of Diwali, soldiers performed special prayers, set off fireworks, exchanged greetings, and distributed sweets among one another. The soldiers expressed that while they miss celebrating with their families, they are happy to celebrate Diwali with their comrades.

“We miss our families, but we’re glad to celebrate Diwali here with our fellow soldiers. This is our home, and this is where our celebrations take place,” said a soldier from the border area.
