The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections is over, with Bengal and Tripura recording the best polling

The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections is over. 59.7 percent polling was recorded till 5 pm in 16 states. West Bengal and Tripura saw the best polling. In Bengal, 77.57 percent and 76.10 percent in Tripura cast their votes. The lowest turnout is in Bihar. 43.32% votes were recorded here.

62.08 percent polling was recorded in Tamil Nadu. Polling was held in the first phase in all 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu. In the first phase, 102 constituencies in 21 states and four Union Territories were judged. About two lakh polling stations were set up.

50.3 per cent polling was recorded in 12 constituencies in Rajasthan, 57.5 per cent in eight constituencies in Uttar Pradesh and 63.3 per cent in six constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. Union ministers such as Nitin Gadkari, Bhupendra Yadav, Kiran Rijiju, Jitendra Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Sarbananda Sonowal and others are prominent people who have sought popular vote in the first phase.
