The search for terrorists continues in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir

The search operation against terrorists attempting to infiltrate in the Kathua district of the Jammu region continues today. The operation was intensified yesterday under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, deploying additional commandos, drones, and sniffer dogs to assist the security forces in their search.

The operation began following intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in Sanyal village, located approximately five kilometers from the international border with Pakistan. Acting on the intelligence, a police team from the Special Operations Group (SOG) initiated the search operation.

Security forces are pursuing the terrorists who fled into the forest area. As the encounter continued, additional troops were deployed to the region. During the exchange of fire, a seven-year-old child was injured and was immediately taken to the hospital. Reports indicate that the child’s condition is stable.

The encounter is still ongoing in the area. The search operation is being conducted jointly by the police, the army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the forested region near the international border. The combined security forces continue their efforts to locate and neutralize the terrorists.
