Lucknow: Train derails in UP, 2 dead. Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed at Gonda in Uttar Pradesh. Railway officials informed that the train derailed around 2.35 pm on Thursday.
Express number 15904, which left Chandigarh station at 11.35 pm on Wednesday night, was involved in the accident. The derailment occurred between Motiganj-Jilahi railway stations.
At least 10 coaches of the express have derailed. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the immediate deployment of rescue and relief workers at the site of the incident, according to the Chief Minister’s Office. Emergency helpline numbers are also provided for assistance. The reason behind the accident is still unclear.
