New Delhi: prime minister’s Viksit Bharat message blocked by Election Commission The action of the Election Commission is based on the Model Code of Conduct. Viksit Bharat sent the message through WhatsApp. Messages seeking votes directly from the Prime Minister were banned.
The Central Election Commission has asked the Ministry of Information and Communications to stop the Prime Minister’s message of Viksit Bharat Sangalp. The opposition had alleged that Modi’s message was a violation of the code of conduct. The TMC filed a complaint with the Election Commission.
The opposition also demanded that people’s phone numbers should be stopped from being used for political purposes. The complaint also alleged that the government system was being used for the propaganda of the party.
