Temperature to rise, Yellow Alert in 11 districts

A Yellow Alert has been issued in 11 districts of Kerala due to the possibility of high temperatures today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a Yellow Alert in the districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod.

Until March 8, the maximum temperature is expected to reach up to 38°C in Thrissur and Palakkad, 37°C in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod, and 36°C in Alappuzha and Malappuram—which is 2 to 3 degrees Celsius higher than usual.
