The Karnataka government restricts the use of drinking water for vehicle washing and gardening.Due to severe water scarcity, car washing, gardening, construction, fountains, road construction and maintenance are now banned with tap water.
The Karnataka Water Supply and Sewerage Board announced the ban on Friday. But other than tap water, people have no other way to wash their cars and water their plants. You have to wait until the rainy season to wash your car.
Meanwhile, the price of water has become more expensive than milk. With the price of private tanker water tripling in some areas of Bengaluru in the last 2-3 weeks, the Bengaluru Urban district administration on Thursday fixed the price of each load based on capacity and distance from the point of supply. 600 for 6,000 liters of water supplied within 5 km and Rs 750 for supply within 10 km.
(Rs. 1200 should be paid for 12,000 liters of water. The administration has given permission to collect Rs. 50 for every extra kiloliter in big tankers.
